Acquasparta and its thermal springs

Acquasparta sits on a hill in the Valnerina area of the Terni province, at around 300 metres above sea level, in that stretch of inland Umbria where towns still keep the scale and geometry of the medieval borgo (historic hilltop town), untouched by the rhythms of organised tourism. Over the centuries, this water heritage has sustained a tradition of care and rest, distinct from the model of grand spa resorts and closer to a discreet, territory-bound way of enjoying them.

Its geographical position places Acquasparta within easy reach of Amelia, Todi and Spoleto, making it a useful point of reference for those exploring the Terni countryside on foot or by bicycle. The trails branching out from the borgo cross oak woods and olive groves, with modest elevation gains suited to a half-day excursion.
