On the hills facing the Adriatic, in Staffolo, at the heart of the classic zone of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, a family-run agricultural estate has been farming a hundred-hectare property since 1990, where the wine speaks of the hillside and the season.
Thirty-six hectares of vineyards stretch across the south-west slope of Staffolo: here Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi finds its soil of choice, alongside Montepulciano and Sangiovese. The roots sink into land the family has known for more than thirty years, and every row bears the mark of a precise choice of grape variety and exposure.
At the heart of the Marche hinterland, the estate spans a hundred hectares of vineyards, olive groves and open countryside: a scale that conveys a sense of farming rooted in its territory. Alongside wine, the estate produces extra-virgin olive oil, the second fruit of a land that offers more than one harvest and more than one aroma.
Each year the winery distributes two hundred and fifty thousand bottles across three distinct lines — Classici, Selezioni and Riserve — which express Verdicchio through different profiles of ageing and complexity. Seventy bottles out of a hundred reach foreign markets: an international presence built around a native grape variety that the Marche hinterland has made its own for centuries.
From the cellar visit to the selection of Riserve, the page tells the story of every label and opens the door to the estate in Staffolo.
