produttori — San Pietro in Cariano · Veneto
Among the hills of Valpolicella Classica, where the province of Verona holds some of Italy's most celebrated denominations, a family has worked its own land for over half a century with the same measure used to age a great wine.
In Valpolicella Classica, at San Pietro in Cariano, the Sartori family has cultivated its own vineyards since 1970. One hundred and sixty hectares of owned land stretch across the hills of Verona: a rare landholding that allows the winery to control every stage of production, from vine to bottle, without intermediaries.
The land is cultivated with respect: since its founding, the Sartori family has adopted farming practices geared toward sustainability, a commitment carried through every season in the fields. The bond with the territory is not merely geographic, but translates into a daily choice to care for the soil and the surrounding environment.
Time is the ingredient that sets apart Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico and Riserva: wines praised for their depth and extraordinary ageing potential. Alongside the Amarone, the traditional appassimento (grape-drying) technique gives rise to the passito wines and to the Valpolicella Ripasso DOC Classico Superiore, authentic expressions of this denomination.
In the cellar, five tasting itineraries — from the Metodo to the Amarone — await those who wish to discover this story up close.
