ristorazione — Spoleto · Umbria
On the hills descending toward Spoleto, along the road the Romans called the Via Flaminia, there is a restaurant that has kept its fire lit since 1958. A family story spanning nearly seventy years, rooted in the Umbrian landscape.
Along the Via Flaminia, at the 123rd kilometre marker, the Zengoni family opened its doors in 1958 as a small roadside trattoria. Since then, the running of the place has stayed in the same hands — from Argentina and Gino to their children Sandro, Antonella and Vania — and that threshold has become a fixed point for anyone travelling through Umbria.
Three air-conditioned dining rooms, an equipped conference hall, a summer veranda and a garden with a swimming pool that can host up to five hundred people outdoors: Zengoni reaches seven hundred covers in total. A place designed as much for a family lunch as for wedding receptions and conferences.
The embers never go out. From the wood-fired oven come mixed roasts and dishes prepared to order with selected ingredients delivered daily by local suppliers. This is Umbrian cooking at its most direct: fresh ingredients, familiar gestures, flavours that need no explanation.
From the everyday table to the grandest occasions, Zengoni accompanies every moment with the same measured care as ever. The page tells the whole story.
