ristorazione — San Vito Lo Capo · Sicilia
On the seafront of San Vito Lo Capo, where Sicily leans out into the Mediterranean, an artisan pastry shop has kept alive since 1996 the recipes of a confectionery tradition that takes no shortcuts.
In San Vito Lo Capo, where the promontory drops into the Sicilian sea, Pamela and Leonardo have kept the doors of Pasticceria Capriccio open since 1996. Thirty years of Sicilian mornings, recipes refined with care and ingredients chosen one by one: a sign the town regards as its own, and one that travelers seek out before they have even unpacked.
The counter is the heart of the scene: cannoli with a crisp shell filled to order, cassata siciliana made according to tradition, intensely flavored pistachio cakes, and frutta martorana. The ricotta does not wait: it goes in at the very last moment, because quality is never negotiated. A display case that tells thirty years of craft in a single glance.
Behind the counter, the kitchen never stops. The artisan panettone — called the king of the production — rises for thirty-six hours through natural fermentation. Every morning Pamela prepares the arancine: on Thursdays a version with pistachio and speck arrives. A production that also includes gluten-free sweets, so that no one is left out of the celebration.
Every morning, every dough, every filling: the page tells in detail everything that Pamela and Leonardo put into the counter.
