ristorazione — Montefalco · Umbria
Among the hills of Montefalco, along the Strada del Sagrantino, an osteria and an enoteca share the same roof: traditional Umbrian cooking and a wine selection that moves through the territory and beyond, guided by a family of sommeliers.
On the Strada del Sagrantino, a few kilometres from Montefalco, the Osteria is run by a family that has turned food and wine into a shared calling: Tonino and Emi in the dining room, Mauro and Loredana as AIS-certified sommeliers, Filippo as architect and sommelier. A family project, built over the years through travels and tastings, and one that is felt from the very threshold.
The dining room holds one of the area's most extensive wine lists: Umbrian, national and international labels, with Montefalco Sagrantino as the guiding thread. A deli counter runs alongside the wine service, offering raw-milk cheeses, cured meats, porchetta and local pinza bread — products of the territory that can be chosen even before sitting down at the table.
The kitchen sends out dishes that tell the story of Umbria as a whole: gnocchi with Sagrantino reduction, strangozzi with white truffle, pappardelle and wild boar stinco (shank). Every preparation is built on local ingredients and recipes that take no shortcuts — a fidelity to tradition that guests recognise and keep coming back for.
