ristorazione — Davesco-Soragno / Lugano · Ticino
On the hills of Davesco-Soragno, just minutes from Lugano, Gallo d'Oro has kept the scent of Italian cooking alive for over forty years. An osteria that tells a family story, of recipes handed down and a veranda open to the greenery, where time slows.
To cross the threshold of Gallo d'Oro is to step into a story more than forty years in the making. It was the dream of Matteo and Lisa Napolitano, built day by day until it became a point of reference for Italian cooking in Ticino. Today Stefano and his staff carry that legacy forward, keeping alive the authentic atmosphere that built the place's reputation.
The dining room opens onto a panoramic veranda, set amid the greenery of the Lugano hills: wide windows that open to the air, a roof that shelters even in the shoulder seasons, and a view that turns every lunch into a true pause. Seven, eight months a year, this veranda is the heart of the place, where the fresh air and the landscape become part of the table.
In the kitchen, everything is made by hand: focaccia, filled pasta, gelato. No shortcuts, no finished products brought in from outside. The Tuscan tradition that guides the menu shows in the care given to every preparation, from starter to dessert, with selected ingredients and artisan methods that have remained unchanged over time.
Fourteen points on the Gault Millau guide, and a kitchen that keeps earning them. The page tells the whole story of what Gallo d'Oro can do.
