ristorazione — Scandicci · Toscana
On the edge of Florence, in the heart of Scandicci, a group of friends with years of experience in Florentine dining opened an osteria in April 2024 that tells the story of Tuscany from the first course to the last: chargrilled meats from local farms, fresh pasta made daily, pizzas from the wood-fired oven.
Da Mordicchio was born from a friendship and a precise idea: to bring authentic Tuscan cooking back to the table, without compromise. The group behind it carries years of work in Florence's restaurants, and that experience shows in every choice: from the selection of fresh, seasonal ingredients to the attention paid to service, which customers describe as impeccable and genuinely thoughtful.
The dining room has the rustic warmth of a true osteria: tables where you eat well and linger gladly. The menu moves through regional tradition with rigour — crostini toscani with chicken liver paté, carefully made first courses, meats from local farms — alongside a wine list built on Tuscan winemaking. According to regulars, the quality holds steady across every course.
The wood-fired oven is the heart of production: the pizzas come from a dough prepared with natural ORO flours, a blend of tipo 0 and tipo 1 (Italian soft wheat flour grades) worked with slow leavening that makes time the first ingredient. Every day, alongside the pizzas, fresh pasta and desserts are made in-house: nothing is outsourced, everything is handmade.
