ristorazione — Ospitaletto · Lombardia
On the outskirts of Brescia, along the road running through Ospitaletto, Trattoria da Giulia has been open since 1993 under the same family management. A place that has never stopped telling the story of Brescia's cuisine through handed-down recipes and carefully chosen ingredients.
Thirty years ago a family chose Ospitaletto to open a trattoria that would above all be a sincere place. Today the sign is still the same, and so is the way of welcoming guests: direct management, where those who cook know every dish and every guest finds an atmosphere that feels like home without ceasing to be a restaurant.
The dining room spans several floors in a well-kept setting, able to host both the midweek lunch break — with a fixed thirteen-euro menu including a first course, a second course, a side dish, wine, water and coffee — and the weekend dinner, when the pace widens and the table grows longer.
Every day the stove turns out casoncelli alla bresciana (Brescia-style stuffed pasta) and spiedo (spit-roasted meat), two dishes that in Brescia are measured against memory: those who know them can tell at once if they are done well. Here the recipes follow tradition and the ingredients arrive fresh, with no shortcuts. Fiorentina steak and paella round out a menu that fears no comparison.
