ristorazione — Lisbona · Área Metropolitana de Lisboa
In the heart of Lisbon, where the Atlantic meets Mediterranean light, a native of Puglia named Alfredo Giangaspero has opened the doors to a project celebrating the gastronomy of southern Italy: focaccia, pizza and the flavours of Puglia in a foreign capital.
The entrance already tells the story: an Italian from Puglia who chose Lisbon as his new home and turned his passion for his native land into a recognisable name. La Focacceria Pugliese is now an established presence with two locations in the Portuguese capital — Campo de Ourique and Benfica — each a point of reference for those seeking the authenticity of southern Italy.
The dining room is a place of declared simplicity: no concessions to effect, but care in hospitality and attention to detail that make the difference. The menu brings orecchiette, burrata (a soft, cream-filled cheese) and pizza barese to the table — products selected to showcase Puglia's food and wine heritage, in a setting where courtesy and dedication to the work are as much part of the experience as the dishes themselves.
At the lit stoves, the heart of the offering takes shape: genuine Italian pizza and Puglian focaccia, doughs worked according to tradition with ingredients chosen with care to respect the original recipe. Focaccia bianca (white focaccia) with onions and rosemary, panzerotti (fried stuffed pockets of dough), puccia (a traditional Puglian bread roll): each preparation is a piece of craftsmanship carrying the flavour of a specific region to another latitude.
