ristorazione — Garlasco · Lombardia
On the plains near Pavia, in Garlasco, a family-run bar-pasticceria has built a recognisable identity in three years: artisanal dough, forty varieties of brioche, and a counter that opens at six in the morning. The Eccellenza Italiana 2026 award certifies the journey.
On via Don Gennaro, in the heart of Garlasco, a door opened at six in the morning changed the rhythm of an entire town. Francesk Gjergji, his wife Brunilda, and their son Kevin founded La Casa della Brioche in 2022: a family bet that in just a few years turned a plains-town locale into a recognisable point of reference well beyond the province of Pavia.
The counter tells the whole story: over forty varieties of brioche lined up every morning, from the timeless Nutella-and-pistachio to fruit-shaped pastries — sweets that reproduce the forms of fruit with almost botanical precision — to Arachide, a cold mousse with peanut cream, the latest addition that customers ask for before the doors even open. Alongside, granita and whipped cream complete the ritual of a Sicilian-style breakfast in the heart of Lomellina.
Behind the counter, production never stops: the dough is made in-house every day, and the brioche come out of the oven with a softness that customers describe as intact even in the afternoon. A team of seven, between pastry chefs and staff, works so that every variety — including the celebrated Dubai, among the first offered in Italy — reaches the counter with the same artisanal care as on day one.
A recognition, the Eccellenza Italiana 2026 award, that the Gjergji family reads as confirmation of years of daily work. The page tells the rest.
