ristorazione — Asti · Piemonte
In Asti, along Corso Savona, a shop bears the name of its most celebrated specialty. Since 1989, Pasticceria Zanetti has kept alive the art of the profiterole and of traditional Piedmontese pastry-making at large: a family workshop that turned a village tradition into a landmark for the whole city.
The story begins in Calliano, where grandfather Luigi founded the Zanetti pastry shop. In 1989 the family moved to Asti, bringing with them recipes, gestures and a craftsman's outlook that never gave way to industrial shortcuts. Since then the workshop on Corso Savona has worked every day: three generations passing down the same care in selecting raw ingredients.
The counter is the heart of the day: croissants filled to order — with pastry cream, chocolate or zabaione — along with focaccia and sandwiches for those who prefer something savoury. The profiteroles, the house specialty, are choux buns filled with chantilly cream and coated in gianduja cream, also available in zabaione and pistachio versions. A display window that tells thirty years of craft.
Behind the counter lies the workshop where everything takes shape: filled chocolates made by hand, cakes created to order and adapted to every occasion, croissants pulled from the oven still warm. Every item on display is made in-house — no shortcuts, nothing bought in — and the result shows at first glance, at first bite.
The profiterole is the calling card, but Pasticceria Zanetti's production goes well beyond it. Discover the full range and order your made-to-measure cake.
