ristorazione — Trevi nel Lazio · Lazio
In the heart of the Parco Naturale Regionale dei Monti Simbruini (Simbruini Mountains Regional Nature Park), in the upper Aniene Valley, the hamlet of La Foce keeps watch over an old farmhouse brought back to life: a trattoria where the traditions of Trevi and Ciociaria are still told in their own voice, far from passing trends and close to the land.
The building came from the restoration of an old farmhouse in the hamlet of La Foce, at the edge of the Parco Naturale Regionale dei Monti Simbruini. Here, where the Aniene Valley narrows between the woods and the historic centre of Trevi nel Lazio climbs the rock face, the entrance to the trattoria is already a threshold: the landscape is left outside, only to be found again within, in the scent of sauces and fresh pasta.
The dining room is run by Sara and Vittoria Napoleoni, a family-run management felt in the calm pace of service and the attention to detail. The outdoor veranda and the garden with a play area make the trattoria a place to bring the whole family. The venue also hosts banquets and celebrations, with menus tailored to the occasion.
In the kitchen, the dough is kneaded by hand every day: fresh pasta is the heart of the menu, served with the ragùs and sauces of Trevi and Ciociaria tradition. Pappardelle with local wild boar ragù is the house signature. The meats come from farms in the area, the desserts follow grandmother's recipes, and the meal closes with home-made liqueurs.
Il Casale La Foce awaits at the finish line with a dish that carries the flavour of the Ciociaria mountains and of family memory: the page tells the rest of the story.
