Within the baroque lanes of Ragusa Ibla lies an atelier where Alta Moda meets Sicily at its most authentic. Fabrizio Minardo, an independent designer working since 2017, creates made-to-measure bridal and occasion wear: each piece begins with careful listening and hands that know couture in depth.
Everything begins with the choice of fabric: silks, muslins, lace and embroidery selected to answer the silhouette and character of the woman who will wear them. In the Ragusa atelier, every gown is one of a kind, conceived and built entirely by hand with the attention to detail that sets Alta Moda apart from mass production. No two gowns are ever alike, because no two brides are ever alike.
Fabrizio Minardo's tailoring skill was built on solid foundations: a diploma with top honours from the Istituto di Moda Burgo in Milan in 2012, advanced training in couture pattern-making at the Accademia Koefia in Rome, then two years on the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda staff between Hong Kong, Tokyo and Beijing. In 2017 that expertise took root once again in Sicily.
The Nostos collection — the name recalls the homecoming of Greek epic — traces the designer's journey between the sacred and the profane, from creations of the utmost restraint to gowns of full stylistic opulence. A path that has been recognised: in 2023 Minardo won the Premio Moda Città dei Sassi in Matera, among the most selective competitions on the Italian Alta Moda scene.
