The place
FABRIZIO MINARDO is an independent Alta Moda designer with an atelier in Ragusa, specializing in made-to-measure wedding and occasion gowns. After two years on the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda staff, following international runway shows in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Beijing, he returned to Sicily in 2017 to start his own business. The Nostos collection celebrates a return to one's roots through haute couture creations that bring out the uniqueness of every client.
The journey
Fabrizio Minardo was born in Ragusa in 1989. His training took him north: he graduated with top marks from Istituto di Moda Burgo in Milan in 2012, then refined his couture pattern-making at the Accademia Koefia in Rome.

Every gown begins with a meeting with the client. The designer listens, understands, proposes solutions to bring out desires and distinctive traits. The design takes shape as a unique response to an individual need.
The making follows the criteria of Alta Moda: cutting, stitching, appliqué work all done by hand with meticulous attention to detail. Every step follows the canons of couture tradition learned in academies and international ateliers.
Successive fittings ensure the garment matches both the body and the personality of the woman wearing it. The gown is shaped until it reaches an absolute fit, the kind that makes every creation one of a kind.
