In the Tuscolano district of Rome, a butcher's shop founded in 1960 still carries the name of its founder: Amedeo Ceci, who arrived from Abruzzo with a knowledge of mountain meats and the will to bring them to the city.
On the marble counter of Piazza San Domenico Savio, meats from the Abruzzo region arrive, selected one by one. It was from Nerito, a small village in Abruzzo, that Amedeo Ceci brought to Rome in 1960 his knowledge of mountain meats: a founding expertise that still defines the shop's raw material today.
The gesture of the craft has stayed within the family. Since 1987, Ercole Ceci, the founder's grandson, has run the butcher's shop: the same care in cutting, the same attention to fresh meats that distinguished his grandfather. A continuity read in the hands before it is read in the name above the door.
Alongside the traditional cuts, the shelf tells a considered evolution: gratinated chicken straccetti, chicken fagottini, tagliata with pepper, breaded chicken. Preparations ready to cook, born from the same artisan rigour as the butcher's shop, designed for those who want quality without giving up time in the everyday kitchen.
From the shop window on Piazza San Domenico Savio, sixty-six years of artisan selection await discovery in the full page.
