On the plains of Mantua, amid open fields and family farmsteads, Caseificio Azzoni carries forward a dairy-making story with roots reaching back to the 1920s. A tradition passed down through generations, alive today in daily practice.
It was grandfather Roberto who began, with sacrifice and dedication, in the 1920s. His son Romano carried it on. Today it is the siblings Micaela and Gianluigi Azzoni who continue the journey, having opened the dairy that bears their name in 2018: a place where family memory turns into concrete daily work every morning.
At the heart of it all is the milk: from the Guernsey cattle raised on the farm, delivered to the dairy and processed day by day using traditional methods. From this raw material — fresh, genuine, traceable — every product is born, from pasteurised milk to the yoghurts made in-house, to the farm-produced gelato.
The shelves of the farm shop reflect the range of a production that spans from Parmigiano Reggiano DOP — a long-standing family tradition — to fresh ricotta, stracchino, mozzarella, primo sale, natural robiola and its spiced versions, right through to artisan butter: each wheel and form is the result of careful craftsmanship and the family's own raw material.
The farm shop is open for direct purchases and visits: the page includes products, opening hours and directions to the dairy in Coazze di Moglia.
