In the Langhe of Moscato, in Santo Stefano Belbo, the hill of Moncucco holds vineyards that a family has tended for nearly a century. A story of sweet Piedmontese wines that travel far while staying true to their origin.
On the hill of Moncucco, in Santo Stefano Belbo, rows of Moscato vines grow on soil the Gatti family has worked for nearly a century. Here the DOCG is no administrative label: it is the result of careful grape selection and rigorous vinification, carried out generation after generation with the same care handed down by founder Piero.
The vineyard demands listening before technique. The estate has chosen a respectful approach to viticulture, taken as far as certification: the Moscato d'Asti produced at Moncucco is certified vegan, the result of practices that exclude animal-derived agents at every stage. A commitment that begins in the field and carries through to the bottle, without shortcuts.
Different labels emerge from the cellar, each with its own character: the Moscato d'Asti DOCG, the Brachetto del Piemonte DOC, the Vignot made from dried grapes, and the dry white «2 Gatti», first produced with the 2016 vintage. Since 2020 Barbara Gatti has run the estate, carrying forward a range that reaches several continents without losing the family's characteristic sense of proportion.
The winery opens its doors to visitors for tastings of Moscato, Brachetto and Vignot: a direct encounter with the people who actually make these wines.
