ristorazione — Sirmione · Lombardia
Sirmione rises on a peninsula embraced by Lake Garda on three sides: a strip of land where the Roman past literally surfaces beneath your feet. Al Boccondivino chose to build its kitchen here, in Piazzetta Mosaici, where every meal is eaten atop history itself.
The entrance opens onto Piazzetta Mosaici 6, in the heart of Sirmione's historic centre. Beneath the glass floor lie the remains of an ancient Roman olive press: a threshold that is not only geographical, but temporal. Stepping into Al Boccondivino means crossing two eras at once, that of the lake and that of the stone.
The dining room is run by Giulia, Erminio, Gianni and Rosa: four people who together manage kitchen and hospitality, with the care of those who treat every guest as a Guest with a capital G. It is this family-run approach that gives the place its tone — precise, warm, free of unnecessary formality.
In the kitchen, pasta and desserts are made from scratch every day. The chef works with low-temperature and sous-vide cooking techniques: a method that preserves the juices of the meats and the organoleptic qualities of the ingredients, translating tradition into precision without sacrificing authentic flavour.
High-quality cheeses and cured meats, a well-stocked wine cellar and fish from the local waters: the full page awaits beyond this threshold.
