ospitalita — Cinto Caomaggiore · Veneto
Among the vine rows of the Lison DOCG, in Cinto Caomaggiore, Mara Giollo and Fabrizio Sut have turned a dream nurtured since their wedding day into a family-run agriturismo: authentic Venetian cooking, wines of their own making, and a farm where the animals roam free.
From the window looking out over the Venetian countryside, you sense the measure of this land. Cinto Caomaggiore lies at the heart of the Lison DOCG, a denomination the Giollo family farms with rigour and passion handed down through generations. The wines produced here can be tasted right at the table during the meal, or bought at the cellar to bring home the authentic character of a precise, recognisable territory.
From the flower-lined balcony, the eye drops down to the courtyard where goats, cows, peacocks, geese, hens and rabbits live freely among the farm's meadows. The farm visit is open to all guests at no extra cost: a stroll among the animals that becomes the most eagerly awaited moment for children, and the clearest memory of a day spent in the countryside.
In the warm light of the two dining rooms, with their wood-burning fireplaces and solid natural wood furnishings, the kitchen tells the story of Venetian tradition with precision: home-made pasta cooked to order, cured meats and vegetables of their own production, farm cheeses and roasts. Ingredients sourced right at home, which find their natural completion in the wines from the Giollo cellar served at the table.
