The story behind Ristorante la Vela is as unique as the food we serve. A mixture of passion, determination and hard work, paved the way for our restaurant over a decade ago.
Ristorante La Vela as a concept was conceived by Michelle Muscat back in 2008. Accountant by profession, Muscat comes from a food-loving family with a long history in the catering business. La Vela started out as a hobby, however by time, it became a full-time job infused with much passion and dedication.
Through persistence and hard work, Michelle Muscat along with her team of talented chefs, created a place where wonder and amazement are merged into one, a place where you can enjoy a lovely meal and a great time.
This popular dining spot is not only known for its atmospheric ambience, but also for the wonderful dishes which are served to customers. Ristorante La Vela is known for hosting a number of celebrities including many popular singers, actors and football personalities from all over the world.

Enrico
Originally from Scicli, Ragusa where he studied the art of cooking, Enrico has joined the restaurant when he was 21 years old. He has grown with the restaurant for the past nine years and with his unlimited passion and dedication Enrico has proven time after time his talent for cooking.
Enrico is our head chef and together with Vincenzo he is pleasantly surprising our customers with new specialities each week.
Vincenzo
Vincenzo is from Ispica, Sicily, and has been with La Vela for over five years now. His delicious dishes speak for his love and passion for food loud and clear. Coming from Ispica, where he went to catering school, Vincenzo has not only knowledge and skills but also great intuition.
The art of combining flavours and creating mouthwatering compositions has no secrets from him, which he has proven many times.

Ristorante e gastronomia di pesce a Ivrea
Cucina di pesce da oltre vent’anni, oggi siamo anche gastronomia per offrire i migliori sapori italiani a casa come al ristorante.
Dove tutto è cominciato
La Rava e La Fava nasce nel 1999 a Ivrea, dove il suggestivo Lago Sirio fa da cornice alla creatività dello chef e titolare Mauro Francesco, che in cucina sceglie di dedicarsi esclusivamente a piatti di pesce, preparando pietanze tipiche della nostra storia culinaria. Come lo chef Mauro sta in cucina, così la moglie Claudia si dedica ad accogliere i clienti e gestire il servizio ai tavoli, contando anche sul supporto dei genitori.
Così da più di vent’anni lo staff della cucina si avvale della possibilità di reperire personalmente prodotti sempre freschi da fornitori di fiducia, guardando alla tradizione, ma strizzando l’occhio all’innovazione. È proprio in questo modo che il ristorante è riuscito ad attirare i suoi clienti, proponendo gusti sempre nuovi a quelli di zona come a quelli che giungono da più lontano.
Dove oggi continuiamo
Dopo ventitré anni noi de La Rava e La Fava abbiamo deciso di spostarci dal Lago Sirio all’interno della città di Ivrea e ridimensionarci per dare spazio ad una nuova idea: la nostra gastronomia. Protagonista è sempre il pescato fresco del giorno, qui esaltato per offrirvi piatti pronti da gustare a casa e preparare nuove pietanze.
Questa nuova visione ci ha portati a stupire i nostri clienti abituali e ad attirarne di nuovi e questo loro entusiasmo farà da trampolino per eventuali progetti futuri che vorremo attuare.

Il Conte nasce nel 1982, grazie a Laura e Gian Pietro. È lui il famoso "Conte", soprannominato così per il suo stile scanzonato di vivere e vestire negli anni ’60. Nessuno immagina che, in realtà, il Conte discenda per via materna dai Benincasa, un'antica famiglia nobile di Orvieto, della quale esiste ancora un palazzo.
Oggi la trattoria di campagna è gestita dalle figlie, che cercano di soddisfare i palati degli orvietani e non solo... Molti clienti affezionati lo dimostrano da anni, e il Conte ringrazia sentitamente.

I was born in Sorrento and started to work in the kitchen at a young age. Cooking has always been my passion and my dream has always been to own a restaurant – finally my wish came true in the beautiful picturesque village of Boston Spa Wetherby!
