Se avrete la fortuna di conoscerli, il girovago e irrequieto Pino Maggiore e l'iperattiva e bella Hajer vi conquisteranno con la loro simpatia ed estrosità . La loro cucina tipica trapanese è stata protagonista di eventi prestigiosi in varie città italiane e straniere: dal Salone del Pesce di Genova al Salone del Gusto di Torino, dal Foodex di Tokyo all’Eleventh International Conference & Festival, presso il californiano The Culinary Institute of America. Ultimamente è stato anche a San Pietroburgo in occasione del Forum economico internazionale.

Da molti anni collaborano con Slow Food, e di fatto sono ambasciatori della cucina trapanese, celebrati in molte riviste italiane e straniere e guide enogastronomiche.

La Cantina Siciliana è stata ospite di trasmissioni televisive nazionali (Linea Blu, Sereno Variabile, Sciuscià, Costume e Società tg2) e internazionali (Svizzera e Giappone), ed oggetto di articoli e foto per giornalisti in tutto il mondo(ampi servizi sono stati pubblicati su riviste nazionali e internazionali).

La Cantina Siciliana è presente, con i suoi menu tipici ed un’ampia e assortita carta di vini rigorosamente siciliani, nelle guide gastronomiche più prestigiose.

Dal 2021, Aissi Hajer è diventata titolare dopo aver affiancato Pino Maggiore per 28 anni come dipendente. Oggi si sente in dovere, assieme al suo team a cui deve molto, di dare seguito a una storica e importante realtà rappresentata in tutte le sue sfumature.

Attualmente, la Cantina Siciliana, oltre ad essere un locale storico trapanese, è un’icona internazionale, portando la tradizione e la passione di Aissi in giro per il mondo, oltre che in Italia

The Restaurant

Situated on the bustling Glasgow Road and just a stone’s throw from Barshaw Park, Caffé Royale has become a thriving destination for excellent Italian cuisine in Paisley and beyond.

Established in 2016 but overseen as a family run operation since 2019, the restaurant pulls off the impressive feat of being stylish and contemporary while retaining a transportive quaintness which will immerse everyone that enters in the joy of the dining experience.

On top of its friendly and attentive staff are pivotal in creating the endearingly comfortable ambiance that's come to be one of its calling cards, what makes this eatery unique is the authenticity of its food.

Our Head Chef

After undertaking a professional pilgrimage in the 1980’s, head chef Colin Guthrie has immersed himself in the traditions and techniques of the mediterranean nation of Italy.

An enthusiastic student of his craft who learned under the tutelage of Sicilian chefs in Corleone, this all important period of hands-on training was supplemented by spending time in the markets of Palermo and getting a rare glimpse into the homespun methods of the mamma’s and nonna’s whose tried and tested methods have fed generations of families.

Inspired by the teachings of the old country, there is nothing mass-produced about what we do. Everything is cooked to order and as such, patience can often be a virtue as we always strive to deliver the most rewarding and flavourful visit that we can.

Fusing the best local produce with select important items which imbue our food with the unmistakable quality of genuine Italian cooking, it goes without saying that no matter what time you pop in and what menu you choose to eat from, we prioritise freshness and always strive to outdo ourselves.

Nuestra historia

El comienzo de la historia de Ristorante Portofino se remonta a los años 60, cuando la familia Greco, originales del sur de Italia, migraron al norte para comenzar sus andadas en el negocio familiar: la trattoria, encabezada por la «nonna Bettina». Fue un mesón Italiano donde se consolidaron las recetas que hoy en día se elaboran en Portofino. Tradición, genuidad, disciplina y autenticidad son las palabras que definen a este negocio.
