Ercole Gaetano vertrok in 1972 vanuit het uiterste puntje van de Laars van Italië naar Nederland.
Om er zeven jaar later in Dordrecht de deuren van zijn restaurant Gaetano-Alexa te openen. De bedoeling was een klein stukje van zijn geboortegrond Calabrië te introduceren in de historische, Dordtse binnenstad.
Dat hij daarvoor een van de fraaiste monumenten uitkoos, die de Oudste stad van Holland rijk is, lag voor de hand. Deze locatie straalt precies dat pittoreske uit waar zijngasten zo naar op zoek zijn.
Het pand aan de Voorstraat kent een rijke historie. Verdeeld over drie lagen ademen de authentieke balken een sfeer uit van weleer. Het pand heeft een typische 17e eeuwse gevel in Renaissance-stijl. Het interieur bevat tal van authentieke details, waaronder unieke tegeltableau's.

Un apassionat de la pizza
Simone, un apassionat de la pizza des de la seva infància, va néixer a Itàlia i des dels catorze anys va estar estudiant el sector de la cuina. Més tard, es va especialitzar en la pizza, recorrent Europa amb l’objectiu de trobar el mètode amb el qual captivar i sorprendre els seus clients. Durant la seva carrera, Simone ha passat per moltes cuines d’alt nivell, entre d’altres, el Diferent Restaurant, una cuina d’autor que el va ajudar a formar-se per després assolir el seu somni: convertir els conceptes d’alta cuina en un plat tan emblemàtic com la pizza.

Our beautiful Italian restaurant in Poole has a large outside eating area overlooking the Quay, perfect for enjoying a drink al fresco. Inside, there is a warm and homely downstairs dining room and upstairs our bright dining room features seven windows overlooking the harbour.

Uno stile elegante e raffinato in cui gustare splendidi piatti della tradizione toscana e italiana.
Semplicemente una piccola porta e un’antica finestra fanno da cornice all’ingresso di questo ristorante “nascosto” in Via delle Belle Donne. I piccoli tavoli e la loro apparecchiatura sono in stile tradizionale ma allo stesso tempo intimo ed elegante.
L’accoglienza amichevole, professionale e allo stesso tempo coinvolgente ti permetteranno di immergerti in un’atmosfera familiare e gustare i veri sapori della tradizione toscana.
L’Osteria Belle Donne è disposta su due livelli: al piano terra il caratteristico bancone contraddistingue la sala principale, al piano inferiore si può ammirare una sala con pavimento in cotto e pareti con pietre a vista, ideale per fare un tuffo nei sapori del passato. Questo meraviglioso spazio è l’ideale per organizzare una cena di compleanno, una festa di laurea, oppure un semplice ritrovo tra amici.
La cucina offre piatti della tradizione toscana e italiana preparati con materie prime genuine e stagionali cucinate secondo le antiche ricette. Gli chef consigliano le specialità della casa come le pappardelle al cinghiale, la pappa al pomodoro con stracciatella o il carrè di agnello al tartufo.
