About Carlo

I was born in Sorrento and started to work in the kitchen at a young age. Cooking has always been my passion and my dream has always  been to own a restaurant – finally my wish came true in the beautiful picturesque village of Boston Spa  Wetherby!

As my mama used to say :

Direkt am Meer gelegen und mit wunderschönen Terrassenplätzen
an der malerischen Strandpromenade versehen, bietet das Essbar ein unvergessliches Erlebnis für alle Sinne.

Besonders kulinarisch verspricht die neapolitanische Küche eine regelrechte Verführung des Gaumens. Eine Empfehlung des Hauses ist ein Besuch in den frühen Abendstunden, wenn die Sonne langsam ins Meer gleitet und den Himmel dabei in ein wunderbares Rot färbt – ein Anblick, der übrigens bei keinem Borkum-Urlaub fehlen darf.

Unsere Pizza

Wenn ein Italiener ein Restaurant eröffnet, darf ein Gericht auf seiner Speisekarte nicht fehlen: Pizza. Die italienische Nationalspeise hat eine jahrhundertealte Tradition, mit der auch Leonardo Iannantouni und sein Team nicht brechen.

Rund 40 verschiedene Pizza-Sorten stehen auf der Speisekarte der Essbar. Darunter befinden sich selbstverständlich die beliebte Pizza Quattro Stagioni oder die Pizza Magherita. Aber auch gewagtere Variationen wie die Pizza Maruzella mit Bananen, Schinken und Gorgonzola sind im Essbar zu haben. Ob klassisch, mit Meeresfrüchten oder für fleischlos: Hier findet jeder Gast seine Lieblingspizza.

Alle Pizzen werden nach italienischem Original-Rezept frisch zubereitet.

Cocktailbar

Gibt es denn etwas Schöneres als im Sonnenuntergang gemütlich einen Cocktail zu schlürfen? Die wohl beste Möglichkeit, um ein solch tollen Augenblich zu erleben, bietet die einladende Terrasse des Essbar am Musikpavillion.

Nat?rlich darf hier auch keine Cocktailbar fehlen und so besticht das Essbar mit einer riesigen Auswahl an hervorragend gemixten Drinks mit oder ohne Alkohol. Sie haben nun auch Lust bekommen, eine Caipirinha, einen Sex on the Beach oder einen anderen Sundowner zu sich zu nehmen. Einer der einladenden Terrassenplätze wartet sicherlich schon auf Sie.

Unsere Speisen

Ob mit Frühstück, Bruschetta, Pizza, Pasta, Entrecote, Tiramisu oder original italienischen Eis – der erfahrene Restaurantleiter Leonardo Iannantouni aus Süditalien versteht es, seine Gäste mit Köstlichkeiten aus seiner Heimat zu verzaubern.

Und tatsächlich läuft einem beim Anblick der reichhaltigen Speisekarte sofort das Wasser im Mund zusammen. Von Fischspezialitäten über Entrecote mit gemischten Pilzen und Zwiebeln, Spaghetti, Gambas mit Sherrytomaten und Rucola, Pizza mit Parmaschinken bis hin zu den großen Frühstücksangeboten ? im der Essbar findet jeder, was sein Herz und Magen begehren!

About Us

Established in 1987, we are an independent, family run traditional Italian restaurant

based at the start of Compstall Road in Romiley, Stockport. Specialising in rustic Italian

home style cooking, open evenings only - 5pm till 10pm everyday except Monday.

Who is the Italian?

Originally from Naples, owner Ferdinando Mercogliano studied at catering schools in Vico Equense and in the centre of Naples before working across Italy and Switzerland, settling in England in the early 80’s.

Our recipes and the ideology behind everything we do and make come from Ferdinando. Many of the dishes we make here today are made the same way that he learnt from his mother and grandmother. Hailing from a part of Naples famous for its pasta making history, cooking is in the Mercogliano family blood.

Now a grandfather, Ferdinando is based both here in Stockport and in Lucca, Tuscany. Sharing his time between Italy and England means Ferdinando guarantees constant fresh and original menu ideas, using the best local and seasonal ingredients. Trusting the day to day running of the kitchen to a carefully selected fantastic team of chefs.

In charge of the restaurant you will find his eldest son Alessandro. A true typical Italian family business!

Ferdinando's deep passion for Italian cooking is infectious and it has truly passed down in the generations of his family. Our heads, hands and hearts are firmly in the kitchen and we are driven to offer customers good food, value for money and a true taste of Italy.

Now well into our 37th year of trading here in Romiley, we are more passionate than ever for what we do. We have recently expanded, and we now have 8 more tables in a new downstairs area. Complete with another bar, facilities and our usual friendly service.

Our philosophy is simplicity, quality, authenticity and big flavours, in a fun and bustling typical southern Italian environment. With us you will always be guests and never customers. Learning and growing day by day, we are truly humbled by your regular custom.

La Storia
La storia del Dai Fradei pizza e cucina è quella dei fratelli Naso, i quali, dal 1985 si sono dedicati alla ristorazione aprendo vari ristoranti nella zona della bassa Veronese.
Dopo aver aperto il ristorante Pizzeria Dai Fradei a Venera di Casaleone nel 2013 nasce Dai Fradei Pizza e Cucina a Bovolone un locale moderno e raffinato nel cuore della città di Bovolone.
