Established in 1987, we are an independent, family run traditional Italian restaurant

based at the start of Compstall Road in Romiley, Stockport. Specialising in rustic Italian

home style cooking, open evenings only - 5pm till 10pm everyday except Monday.

Who is the Italian?

Originally from Naples, owner Ferdinando Mercogliano studied at catering schools in Vico Equense and in the centre of Naples before working across Italy and Switzerland, settling in England in the early 80’s.

Our recipes and the ideology behind everything we do and make come from Ferdinando. Many of the dishes we make here today are made the same way that he learnt from his mother and grandmother. Hailing from a part of Naples famous for its pasta making history, cooking is in the Mercogliano family blood.

Now a grandfather, Ferdinando is based both here in Stockport and in Lucca, Tuscany. Sharing his time between Italy and England means Ferdinando guarantees constant fresh and original menu ideas, using the best local and seasonal ingredients. Trusting the day to day running of the kitchen to a carefully selected fantastic team of chefs.

In charge of the restaurant you will find his eldest son Alessandro. A true typical Italian family business!

Ferdinando's deep passion for Italian cooking is infectious and it has truly passed down in the generations of his family. Our heads, hands and hearts are firmly in the kitchen and we are driven to offer customers good food, value for money and a true taste of Italy.

Now well into our 37th year of trading here in Romiley, we are more passionate than ever for what we do. We have recently expanded, and we now have 8 more tables in a new downstairs area. Complete with another bar, facilities and our usual friendly service.

Our philosophy is simplicity, quality, authenticity and big flavours, in a fun and bustling typical southern Italian environment. With us you will always be guests and never customers. Learning and growing day by day, we are truly humbled by your regular custom.

À Samois, nous sommes ouverts du jeudi au lundi, aux mêmes horaires, pour vous offrir des plats typiques des plus belles régions d’Italie.

Que vous choisissiez de manger sur place ou d’emporter, nous vous proposons une cuisine de qualité, accompagnée d’une cave à vin 100% italienne et de cocktails traditionnels. Profitez d’excellentes soirées “aperitivo” en famille ou entre amis dans une ambiance conviviale !

Il locale si trova in una posizione privilegiata, leggermente rialzata rispetto al centro del paese, regalando una vista spettacolare che abbraccia l’intero panorama circostante. Dall’alto, lo sguardo si perde tra le casette colorate di Positano e l’azzurro profondo del mare, creando un’atmosfera unica e suggestiva in ogni momento della giornata.

Durante il pranzo, gli ospiti possono assaporare piatti tradizionali preparati con ingredienti freschi e genuini, ricchi di sapori autentici e legati alla cucina locale. Nel pomeriggio, il locale si trasforma nel luogo ideale per un aperitivo rilassante, accompagnato da una brezza leggera e da una vista che lascia senza fiato.

Quando cala la sera, l’esperienza si fa ancora più magica: il locale propone cene raffinate a base di pesce fresco, servite in un ambiente elegante ma accogliente. Il tutto mentre si ammira la celebre piramide di Positano, illuminata dalle luci soffuse del borgo, e il mare che brilla sotto le stelle, punteggiato dai riflessi dei numerosi yacht ancorati al largo.

La sala 1,elegante,raffinata,moderna unica ospita per banchetti di un massimo di 70 persone, la sala 2 piu alternativa a compleanni e a buffet,adatta anche come location per cabaret,musica dal vivo e rassegne teatrali per un massimo di 150 persone .

Il servizio che offriamo per ogni vostro ricevimento e esclusivamente soggettivo,tutto in base alle vostre idee ed esigenze.
