Bei gutem Essen finden Familien zusammen und es werden Freundschaften geschlossen – darum ist es uns ein großes Anliegen, Ihnen nicht nur italienische Köstlichkeiten zuzubereiten, sondern Ihnen vor allem eine schöne Zeit zu bescheren. Als Familie, die aus Süditalien stammt, bringen wir die italienische Küche direkt auf Ihre Teller. Dabei nutzen wir ausschließlich erlesene, italienische Produkte und Zutaten. Jedes unserer Rezepte wurde schon seit der 3. Generation weitergegeben und mit Liebe verfeinert. Mit der Hilfe von italienischen Techniken, viel Innovation und Hingabe entstehen so die aromatischsten Kreationen.
Unsere Geschichte
Wir sind eine Familie aus Kalabrien in Süditalien. Seit 5 Jahren leben wir nun in Deutschland und möchten Ihnen den Genuss unserer Heimat näherbringen. Mit großer Leidenschaft geben wir uns der Küche hin, um Ihnen ein vollkommenes Erlebnis zu verschaffen.
Die Kunst der Pizza
Jede Pizza wird von uns mit Liebe und spezieller Technik zubereitet. Für besonders luftige Böden mit knusprigen Rändern lassen wir unsere Teige 48 Stunden vor der Zubereitung ruhen, so können sie sich richtig entfalten. Anschließend kümmern wir uns mit Hingabe um den Belag Ihrer Wünsche.

Daniela e Stefania. Innanzitutto siamo due donne, amiche e ora socie.
Io, Daniela, avevo il sogno di una libreria caffè che si è realizzato con l'incontro di Stefania, che ha deciso di abbracciare il progetto seguendo la caffetteria.
Il nostro obiettivo è di creare un ambiente dove ci sia tranquillità e accoglienza.
Momenti sereni dove leggere un libro sorseggiando un tè o un caffè abbinato a dolci e biscottini di nostra produzione. Qui da noi il tempo si ferma per dare spazio alla bellezza.
La nostra fortuna è stata anche trovare un luogo dove la storia, i fasti e le tradizioni del nostro territorio, si respirano a pieni polmoni.
Sapete una cosa?
Non siamo bravi a scrivere versi romantici e parole narcisistiche nei nostri confronti, ma siamo certi che il nostro lavoro lo svolgiamo con tutte le forze, la abbondante gentilezza e l'amore per esso.
Noi non vendiamo cibo o bibite ma regaliamo al nostro cliente esperienze sensoriali che solo l'atmosfera paradisiaca di Taormina offre, con sposalizi di profumi, sapori, melodie e panorami inconcepibili fuori questo Eden.

About Us
Established in 1987, we are an independent, family run traditional Italian restaurant
based at the start of Compstall Road in Romiley, Stockport. Specialising in rustic Italian
home style cooking, open evenings only - 5pm till 10pm everyday except Monday.
Who is the Italian?
Originally from Naples, owner Ferdinando Mercogliano studied at catering schools in Vico Equense and in the centre of Naples before working across Italy and Switzerland, settling in England in the early 80’s.
Our recipes and the ideology behind everything we do and make come from Ferdinando. Many of the dishes we make here today are made the same way that he learnt from his mother and grandmother. Hailing from a part of Naples famous for its pasta making history, cooking is in the Mercogliano family blood.
Now a grandfather, Ferdinando is based both here in Stockport and in Lucca, Tuscany. Sharing his time between Italy and England means Ferdinando guarantees constant fresh and original menu ideas, using the best local and seasonal ingredients. Trusting the day to day running of the kitchen to a carefully selected fantastic team of chefs.
In charge of the restaurant you will find his eldest son Alessandro. A true typical Italian family business!
Ferdinando's deep passion for Italian cooking is infectious and it has truly passed down in the generations of his family. Our heads, hands and hearts are firmly in the kitchen and we are driven to offer customers good food, value for money and a true taste of Italy.
Now well into our 37th year of trading here in Romiley, we are more passionate than ever for what we do. We have recently expanded, and we now have 8 more tables in a new downstairs area. Complete with another bar, facilities and our usual friendly service.
Our philosophy is simplicity, quality, authenticity and big flavours, in a fun and bustling typical southern Italian environment. With us you will always be guests and never customers. Learning and growing day by day, we are truly humbled by your regular custom.
