The place
Since 1975 RISTORANTE PIZZERIA IL MARE has held the distinction of being Vienna's first pizzeria, bringing the authenticity of Italian tradition to the heart of the Austrian capital. Founded by Pasquale Tavella and now led by his daughter Grazia Tavella-Sevilmis, the restaurant on Zieglergasse 15 celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2025, confirming its status as an established point of reference for Mediterranean dining, known and appreciated well beyond national borders.

Since 2016 Grazia Tavella-Sevilmis has carried forward the work begun by her father Pasquale, keeping intact the restaurant's original philosophy and the identity built over fifty years of activity, with the aim of offering guests only the best.
The setting carries the character and warmth of Italy into the heart of Vienna, offering spaces renewed over time, a summer garden for the warm season, and a welcome that combines Mediterranean authenticity with Austrian hospitality.
