The place
For nearly three hundred years, the Ristorante del Santuario has carried forward the gastronomic tradition of Biella and Piedmont within the striking complex of the Santuario di Graglia. Run by Catia and chef Sergio, it offers home-style cooking that revives old recipes of the territory, using mainly local produce. The menu changes daily with specialities such as riso in cagnone, polenta concia, panissa, brasato al Bramaterra, bollito misto alla piemontese, and typical desserts such as bunet and hazelnut cake. On request, guests can also enjoy special dishes made with mushrooms from the Valle Elvo and recipes drawn from medieval tradition. The three dining rooms seat up to three hundred people, in a historic setting adorned with frescoes.
