The place
Il Botteghino di Rocco Saponaro is an artisan workshop in the heart of Ostuni's historic centre, on Via Cattedrale. For over twenty-five years, the ceramic tradition of Ostuni has taken shape in Rocco's hands, as he models clay according to ancient techniques handed down through the centuries. Every piece is unique: decorated fischietti, colourful pumi, lamps, vases, kitchen objects and home decor pieces all emerge from careful craftsmanship and kiln firing, which gives each one its own unrepeatable colours and textures. Alongside the ceramics, the workshop offers handcrafted olive wood objects, such as large pyroengraved chopping boards. The atmosphere is that of a true artisan studio, where a passion for the territory takes shape in works that carry an authentic piece of Puglia into the homes of those who choose them.
