The place
Since 1921 Claudio Mariotto has carried forward the family's winemaking tradition in the hills of Vhò, in the heart of the Colli Tortonesi. Among the vineyards of the upper Tortona hills come wines that express the territory, such as Timorasso Derthona, a native variety named after the city's ancient Latin name. Martirella embodies the estate's philosophy: one vineyard, one wine, where microclimate and terroir merge with Barbera and other local varieties.
