The place
Camping Lac Lexert stands on the shores of the lake of the same name in Bionaz, in Valpelline, in the heart of the Valdostan Pennine Alps. Founded by biathlon Olympian Patrick Favre, the campsite offers spacious pitches for tents and campers, as well as modern mobile homes for rent. The site, also accessible to people with disabilities, has a bar, restaurant, pizzeria and grocery shop. In summer the lake becomes a setting for play and walks among larches and firs, while in winter the cross-country ski trail passes just a few metres away. The restaurant serves traditional Valdostan dishes prepared with alpine-pasture fontina.
