ospitalita — Acqui Terme · Piemonte
Among the hills of Acqui Terme, in the province of Alessandria, a historic twentieth-century villa carries with it a landscaped garden signed by a master designer and seven suites that turn any occasion — a wedding, a reception, a stay — into something hard to forget.
On the hills of the Alto Monferrato (Upper Monferrato), in Acqui Terme, a historic residence built in the first half of the twentieth century looks out over a landscape that shifts slowly with the seasons. From this window the Monferrato is not a backdrop: it is the very reason for the place, the measure by which every stay finds its bearings.
The garden that descends along the hillside was designed by Pietro Porcinai, one of the most important Italian landscape architects of the twentieth century. The sunlit terrace and the seasonal outdoor pool complete an outdoor space that does not imitate the surrounding nature but converses with it, following a precise and deliberate geometry.
Seven suites welcome guests with a private check-in that does away with any reception-desk formality: every arrival is treated like that of an expected visitor. The villa hosts ceremonies and receptions, and the same suites that bring a wedding to life in the evening become, by morning, a quiet refuge in the light of Piedmont.
The façade opening onto the Monferrato is an invitation that needs no words. The page tells the rest.
