In Turin, a city that has made fine craftsmanship a centuries-old vocation, there is a goldsmith's workshop that has been turning metals and stones into unique jewels since 1984. It is called Turchese, and every piece bears the mark of the hands that conceived and built it.
At Walter Poggio's workbench, every jewel comes to life from first idea to final touch of the file, entirely by hand, in the same Turin workshop on Corso de Gasperi. Since 1984, no step has ever been outsourced: design, casting and finishing all belong to the same gesture, the same eye.
A workbench is inherited along with the craft. Turchese Gioielli is a family-run workshop: the owners lead it with the help of their son, who worked alongside his father, learning every stage of the craft from within. It is this quiet continuity that gives the finished piece a coherence mass production cannot imitate.
The light passing through coloured glass is the same light a goldsmith looks for in a stone before setting it. Turchese offers original, exclusive jewels — pieces found nowhere else — and guides clients who arrive with no more than an idea, turning it into form and material through personalised consultation and made-to-measure craftsmanship.
