In the outskirts of Milan, just a few kilometres from the city centre, a design atelier has spent over thirty years working at the junction of form and function: small appliances and household objects conceived with the same care as a one-of-a-kind piece.
In the outskirts of Milan, in Peschiera Borromeo, Giannino Castiglioni founded TRABO in 1989 together with his wife, Carla Borlè Castiglioni, and Maurizio Borletti. From that vision came Atelier Castiglioni Jr-Lab (a design and prototyping studio): a workshop of ideas where Made in Italy is not a label but the method by which every project takes shape, from first intuition to finished product.
On the workbench, professional hairdryers for hotels — such as the energy-saving Ecofon model or the Luxury Ion 2100 — take their place alongside kitchen accessories, Naturpizzy refractory stones and design toasters. Quality, functionality and attention to detail are the criteria that guide every choice: no product enters the catalogue without meeting all three.
Alongside its own production, the company also holds exclusive distribution rights for selected brands: Kisag for professional kitchens, and the collections signed Gae Aulenti, where designer authorship meets everyday use. A path recognised with the title Eccellenza Italiana 2024, confirming the coherence between research, aesthetics and market.
