produttori — Capraia e Limite · Toscana
Among the hills of the Valdarno, in Limite sull'Arno just a few kilometres from Florence, the scent of roasted coffee has accompanied the town since 1950. Angela and Silvia Negro, together with their father Angelo, carry on an artisan roasting house that has made slow, precise gesture its signature.
Green beans arrive at the roasting house counter from Costa Rica, Guatemala, Brazil, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Ethiopia: origins chosen with care one by one, assessed even before heat transforms them. Selection is the first act of an artisan process that admits no shortcuts, and which, since 1950, has always begun here, with the quality of the raw material.
It is Angelo, father of Angela and Silvia, who oversees the roasting: every week, through direct visual control, the beans are roasted by hand at the historic premises. A family gesture handed down over time, ensuring blends that are always fresh. In 2019, it was the only roasting house invited by AIS (Italian Sommelier Association) and the Associazione Cuochi Toscani to the Food and Wine in Progress event at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence.
On the shelf sit the classic lines — Aroma Bar, Extra Bar, Dolce Crema — alongside certified organic blends and decaffeinated options, available as beans, ground, pods and capsules compatible with the main systems. Tasting kits round out the offer, designed for those who want to methodically explore the differences between one intensity and another.
The shop is open, on site and online with free shipping over fifty euros: the page lists formats, lines and contacts to order directly from the roasting house.
