On the slopes of Vesuvius, in the manufacturing heart of Campania, a company works materials that most European industries cannot even machine. Sòphia High Tech designs and produces mechanical components for the aerospace and defence sector, certified to AS/EN 9100.
On the workbench sit alloys that define the boundaries of precision engineering: titanium, inconel, tungsten, molybdenum, hastelloy. Fourteen advanced materials, each with its own hardness and cutting parameters. Choosing the alloy is no small detail: it is the first act of the project, the point where the physics of flight meets metallurgy.
Forty specialists, an engineering department equipped with CAE software for linear and non-linear FE simulation, and a process that combines additive manufacturing with precision CNC machining. The most complex geometries — those conventional machines cannot reach — are born this way: from the collaboration between calculation and the operator's hand.
Over 530 advanced projects completed in twelve years of activity, with operational sites in Somma Vesuviana and in Plzeň, in the Czech Republic. The components produced reach manufacturers in the aerospace, defence and automotive sectors: Sòphia is qualified as a primary supplier for design, development and production, among the few companies of this calibre in Southern Europe.
