In Sapri, on Corso Garibaldi just steps from the seafront of the Gulf of Policastro, Ristorante Lucifero has been open since 1985. It was Genesio Torre who founded it, bringing with him a love of local Campania produce and a clear vision of cuisine: that of Cilento and Naples, without compromise. The name carries a story the owner is happy to tell in person.
The two dining rooms and the small salon of the Lucifero welcome guests in bright red tones and a carefully tended atmosphere, somewhere between a trattoria with character and an elegant restaurant. Angela and Doris Torre run the hospitality and service with the same care the family brings to the kitchen. A setting also suited to ceremonies and receptions, where every table is an invitation to slow down.
At the stove work Genesio, chef and sommelier, together with Lazzaro and Graziano: a family brigade that personally selects every raw ingredient. Fish arrives fresh from the Tyrrhenian Sea and becomes seafood risotto, tagliatelle with red tuna, tuna tagliata in a pistachio crust. Alongside, land dishes such as pennette alla Silana bring the inner Cilento to the table.
