Among the hills of the Ancona countryside rising toward Castelfidardo, Il Girasole opened its doors in 2025 with a clear mission: to bring the cuisine of the Marche back to the table in its most authentic form, true to the land and its rhythms, without mediation and without nostalgia.
Castelfidardo carries a rich history — home of the accordion, a crossroads of Adriatic culture and the Marche countryside. It is here that the new management, launched in 2025, chose to put down roots, bringing a gastronomic project that looks to tradition as a compass rather than a decoration. The entrance is already a statement of intent: cuisine of the land, without superfluous ornament and without compromise.
The dining room is designed to welcome everyone alike: tables set for wedding receptions and private events sit alongside those meant for a relaxed lunch without ceremony. In summer, the outdoor seating extends the hospitality outward, into the light of the Marche hills. An accessible space, open too to those arriving with their dog on a leash.
From the stove come flavours that the Marche have guarded for centuries: local ingredients worked with traditional method, no shortcuts. The kitchen is the declared heart of the project, and this comes through even in the takeaway service — a way of carrying those flavours beyond the threshold, into the homes of those who cannot linger at the table.
