In Moosburg an der Isar, on the edge of the Stadtwald (town forest), Massimo Lopez opened his first restaurant in 2025: a family-run Italian dining spot bringing pizzas, fresh pastas and Mediterranean dishes to the heart of Bavaria, with the ease of someone who grew up around the stove.
The door of Da Sophie e Massimo opens onto a family project: Massimo Lopez, twenty-seven, son of Italian restaurateurs, chose Moosburg to give shape to a dream nurtured since childhood. Alongside him are Lena-Sophie and Luca-Pio: three names, one restaurant, founded in March 2025 with the intention of making Italian cuisine feel like home in Bavaria too.
The dining room on Stadtwaldstraße holds a rare feature: built into the venue is a kegelbahn, the traditional Bavarian bowling lane, turning an evening out into a small celebration. Here Italian conviviality meets the German taste for Beisammensein, the pleasure of being together: a space designed for families, with high chairs for children and room for every generation.
