produttori — Neive · Piemonte
On the hills of Neive, in the heart of the Piedmontese Langhe, the Ressia family has grown its own grapes on the Cru Canova for nearly a century. The road climbing toward the cellar crosses sun-drenched slopes where every row tells a deliberate choice: that of a family that chose to remain on its own land.
Since 1930 the Ressia family has worked this land: today it spans twelve hectares on the Cru Canova, entirely under their own management. Since 1997 Fabrizio has led the estate with agronomic rigor, working exclusively with grapes grown on Neive's sun-drenched slopes. A choice of terrain, in the most literal sense: no purchased grapes, no concession to quantity.
In the vineyard, every choice answers to a precise criterion: the estate practices integrated pest management and follows the Green Planet traceability protocol, methods that protect the soil and the balance of the Cru Canova. Quality is not born in the cellar alone: it is born in how the land is treated season after season, without forcing what the soil already knows how to give.
In the cellar at Regione Canova, time works in silence. The Barbaresco DOCG Riserva Canova is the flagship wine: structure, lingering aromas, and the elegance that only the Cru Canova can render. Alongside it, Barbera d'Alba Superiore, Nebbiolo Langhe, and Dolcetto complete a production of roughly twenty-seven thousand bottles a year.
Fabrizio and Debora welcome visitors for guided tastings, paired with local cured meats and cheeses, with direct sales at the cellar.
