On Corso Meridionale in Naples, just steps from Stazione Centrale, a sign has stood since 1960: Pasticceria Tizzano, founded by Antonio Tizzano and today run by his daughters Imma and Loredana, keepers of every secret of Neapolitan pastry-making.
The door at Corso Meridionale 6/C opens onto more than sixty years of unbroken history. Antonio Tizzano, nicknamed by customers "'O Re d'o Babà" (the King of Babà), built here one of the most recognisable pastry shops in Naples. After his passing, his daughters Imma and Loredana chose to carry on, bringing with them forty years of experience gained working side by side with their father.
Behind the counter unfolds the repertoire of Neapolitan tradition: babà in its many versions — plain, filled, in every size — alongside sfogliatelle both ricce and frolle, pastiera, torta caprese, zeppole and millefoglie. Every morning the display case fills with fresh production, since maximum freshness is one of this house's declared cornerstones.
In the workshop, the process has remained handcrafted just as it was at the start: selected raw materials, traditional recipes handed down from generation to generation, skilled hands kneading every day. There are no shortcuts: production is daily, and each pastry reaches the counter with the freshness that only a daily work cycle can guarantee.
Tizzano's pastries reach even those who cannot stop by: delivery is available via Glovo, Deliveroo, Just Eat, and through Corriere Tizzano.
