Tra le colline del Monferrato astigiano, a Villanova d'Asti, uno studio fotografico ha scelto di guardare lontano: dal 2000, Motor Sport Images porta la sua macchina fotografica nei più grandi autodromi d'Europa, documentando il motorsport internazionale con la precisione di chi lo conosce da dentro.
Motor Sport Images has documented international racing since 2000, with a constant presence at Europe's leading circuits: Formula 1, GP2, MotoGP and Superbike at Monaco, Monza, Imola, Misano, Vallelunga, Magny Cours and Portimao. A studio that has made motorsport its absolute specialty, building over the years a visual archive of races and protagonists on two and four wheels.
Official photographer for the Ayrton Senna Foundation since 2000, Gianfranco Avallone documented ImolAyrton 2004 — marking ten years since the death of the celebrated Brazilian champion — with images published on the foundation's official website. His photographs have appeared in Corriere della Sera, La Stampa, Tuttosport, Motociclismo and Quattroruote. He is also the author of the volume Troy Bayliss — Images of the Legend, a portrait in pictures of the Superbike champion.
Alongside its photography work, the studio organises the Red Passion by Motorsport gatherings: events that bring Ferraris and supercars onto the roads around Asti, drawing participants from across northern Italy. In 2021, Red Passion and Motorsport received the Eccellenze Italiane award for their role in promoting the territory and local activities, confirming the studio's dual vocation: bearing witness to the world of motors and bringing it to life.
