In the Val Bormida, where the inland reaches of Savona still keep the measure of things made by hand, Carcare is home to a workshop that has been working wood since 2007 using traditional joinery techniques: every piece begins as a conversation, not a catalogue entry, and carries the signature of the person who built it.
Since 2007, Luca Pirotti's workshop has carried forward an ancient craft with the consistency of someone who has chosen not to shorten the time it takes. Here, artisan workmanship is not a stylistic statement but the concrete method behind every commission: hand, eye and tool, in the right order, with the patience wood demands and machines cannot give.
On the joiner's bench, every project starts from a blank page: no catalogue models, no standard measurements. Pirotti makes furniture and wooden pieces built around the specific needs of whoever commissions them, reading spaces, proportions and functions with the precision of someone who knows the material from the inside. Every piece is designed to last, and to sit exactly where it should.
Among the pieces that leave the workshop, wooden staircases are the most recognisable speciality: structures that must bear weight, guide the step and remain beautiful over time. Every staircase is an exercise in domestic engineering, tackled with the tools and sensibility of artisan work, with no production shortcuts and no compromise on the quality of the wood chosen.
