ristorazione — Nardò · Puglia
In the historic centre of Nardò, at Via Duomo 5, an address that already carries its own compass in the name: just steps from the baroque cattedrale (cathedral) that dominates the square, La Cattedrale unfolds a single project combining osteria cooking, wine culture and the art of mixology.
Fabio and Nadia chose Via Duomo 5 with the precision of those who know that an address, in the historic centre of Nardò, is not just a coordinate: it is already a statement. The name mirrors the monument visible just steps away, and the entrance introduces a format that weaves together three distinct vocations without letting any one overshadow the others.
The dining room is also an enoteca (wine shop) and wine bar: a place where the wine list is not an accessory but a story in its own right. Here one reads the back label, learns the territory through the glass, and the service carries that openness to conversation that guests recognise as the house's distinctive trait.
In the kitchen, the cooking follows Salento: fresh fish, seafood, raw ingredients that arrive from the Ionian Sea and find in osteria tradition the most honest way to be told. The presentation of the dishes, which guests describe as choreographic and excellent, never betrays the substance; and at the end of the meal, the gintoneria (gin bar) closes the circle with a selection of premium gins.
Three souls, one address: the page for La Cattedrale tells how Salento cooking, wine selection and mixology coexist under the same roof in Nardò.
