ristorazione — San Valentino di Fiumicello · Friuli-Venezia Giulia
On the Friulian plain, in San Valentino di Fiumicello, a restaurant carries the name of someone who believed in it enough to come back: Checco, his Neapolitan pizza and the cooking of a territory that still knows how to surprise.
The story begins within these very walls. Checco learned to make pizza here, under the previous management, and in March 2024 he made his dream come true: taking over the restaurant, giving it his name, and bringing to it the cooking he loves. A beginning that is not a starting point, but a considered return.
The dining room keeps the familiar spirit it has always had, with the outdoor pergola — the boschetta of the name — forming a soft border between inside and out. People eat among familiar faces, in an atmosphere where service is never formal and the daily dishes change with the best produce of the moment.
The wood-fired oven is the heart of the house. The dough rests for between twenty-four and forty-eight hours, made with flour from the Mulino Milocco; the mozzarella comes from Agerola, and the Campania ingredients are carefully selected. The result is an authentic Neapolitan pizza that asks nothing of the customer but to sit down.
A dish that tells of two Souths at once — the Campania of the dough and the Friuli of fresh fish. The full page awaits beyond the threshold.
