In the heart of Salento, at the entrance to the small village of Vignacastrisi, L'Aia di San Giorgio rises among centuries-old olive trees just minutes from the sea at Castro. Salento narrows between two seas, and Castro Marina, with its turquoise waters and sea cave, lies less than three kilometres from the agriturismo (farm stay). L'Aia di San Giorgio is conceived as a base for exploring this stretch of Puglia: the sea is close, but the rhythm of the day is set in the shade of the olive trees.
Five rooms welcome guests, all air-conditioned and with private bathroom: two doubles, two triples and one quadruple. Two of them have a private terrace overlooking the green of the olive groves. The building was renovated with carpentry work carried out by the owners themselves, a detail that speaks to how much care for the place is part of the hospitality project.
The kitchen is the centre of the day: Mediterranean cooking built on ingredients from the synergistic garden and the trees on the property, with the chance to buy and taste local specialities directly on site. Breakfast and dinner follow the same principle of closeness, bringing to the table flavours that belong to this precise corner of Salento.
