ristorazione — Charleroi · Vallonia
In Ransart, five minutes from Charleroi airport, a discreet façade conceals something unexpected: a piece of Puglia built brick by brick in the heart of Belgium. Il Trulletto brings to the table the gastronomic tradition of the Murge, with its rituals, its flavours and its conviviality.
Opened in 2001, Il Trulletto has built over the years a reputation recognised well beyond the neighbourhood: the Marque de Qualité des Restaurants Italiens dans le monde and the accolades from the Gault & Millau guide attest to a cuisine that makes no compromises with tradition. Walking in means choosing Apulian authenticity, not an approximation of it.
The dining room welcomes guests with the same warm simplicity found in family-run trattorias back home: carefully set tables, an atmosphere that invites you to linger. The menu offers orecchiette and cavatellucci prepared according to traditional recipes, dressed with meat or seafood sauces, alongside specialities of fresh fish and selected meats.
At the centre of the room, the wood-fired oven built in the shape of a Puglian trullo (traditional conical stone dwelling) is far more than a decorative element: it is the symbol that gives the restaurant its name and its deepest reason for being. From that oven come the pizzas on the days they are served, but above all comes the warmth of a tradition that traces back to Alberobello.
From the Italian wine list to dessert, every detail completes the story. The page gathers menus, opening hours and how to book a table.
