In the hills south of Munich, where the fairways of Golfclub München-Riedhof stretch out among Bavarian woods, an Italian restaurant has chosen to tell its own culinary story far from every cliché. Il Prato opens its doors every day, from morning until evening.
Crossing the threshold of Il Prato means crossing an unusual border: outside, green Bavaria; inside, Italy at the table. The restaurant was born in 2025 within the Golfclub München-Riedhof in Egling, a deliberate choice to bring authentic Italian cuisine to a setting where no one expected it, far from tourist routes and city centres.
Every day, from ten in the morning until ten at night, the dining room welcomes a clientele that includes club members and their guests. The carefully tended setting also becomes a stage for special events: Christmas dinners, buffets, occasions that the venue organises to measure for the golf club and for anyone wanting to celebrate in a setting out of the ordinary.
Behind the stoves at Il Prato work Letizia Mammoli and Antonio Guglielmi, the couple who brought here their own idea of Italian cuisine: not a simple ethnic offering, but a faithful account of tradition, built day by day with selected ingredients and a technique that seeks no shortcuts nor compromises with flavour.
