Cascia, a hilltop borgo (historic Italian village) in Umbria seven hundred metres above sea level, has kept the memory of Saint Rita for centuries. Twenty metres from her Basilica, the Hotel delle Rose has opened its doors since 1956 to pilgrims, travellers and sports teams on retreat.
The window frames the green valley descending from the Apennine ridges and, just beyond the sill, the dome of the Basilica di Santa Rita.
