In the metropolitan area of Naples, in Casoria, there is a name the neighbourhood has known for three generations: Gourmet. The Zanfardino family opened here in 1950, and since then the business has never stopped growing, eventually spreading its story across three locations in the area.
Three entrances, one story. Since 1950 the Zanfardino family has carried forward a business in Casoria that has known how to evolve without losing its identity: lounge bar, caffetteria (café), pasticceria (pastry shop), restaurant and tobacco shop coexist under the same name, each with its own calling, all sharing the same care handed down from generation to generation.
The counter is the beating heart of Gourmet: here the bartenders' drink list meets generous spreads of stuzzicherie (savoury bites) — smoked provola, bruschette, parigina (puff pastry snack), mozzarella bites — with drinks priced at seven or eight euros. The aperitivo is one of the place's recognised strengths, so much so that at peak hours the venue fills up and a bit of waiting becomes part of the ritual.
Behind the counter there is also a concrete, everyday kitchen. From Monday to Saturday, from twelve to four in the afternoon, the location inside the I Pini shopping centre offers a business lunch: first course, second course, side dish, water, bread and cover charge for twelve euros. A fixed menu designed for people working nearby who are after a proper break, without giving up on quality.
